from a mother’s heart
February 4, 2007If I could, I’d protect you
from the sadness in your eyes
Give you courage
in a world of compromise
Yes I would, if I could
I would teach you all the things
that I never learned
And I’d help you cross the bridges
that I burned
Yes, I would
If I could, I would try to shield
your innocence from time
But the part of life I gave you isn’t mine
I’ve watched you grow so I could let you go
If I could, I would help you make it
through the hungry years
But I know that I can never cry your tears
But I would, if I could
If I lived in a time and place
where you don’t want to be
You don’t have to walk
along this road with me
My yesterday won’t have to be your way
If I knew, I’d have tried
to change the world that I brought you to
But there isn’t very much that I can do
But I would, if I could….

a chance to turn things around
i already have a list of articles in mind that i wanted to post here.
i'm just finishing what i have to do before i update this post.
not until i encountered this article from philippine star.
i was in the middle of a research for the next event, when i visited the portal of phil. star.
i learned that we had the second strongest economy in mid-20th century, second to no-less than the country of the rising sun.
well, it's now a thing of the past.
through the years, we have slowly found our way at the back of the pack–in all aspects, actually (economics, education, sports program, even in the use of the english language).
what a sad story we're writing for our history.
i'm sharing this article with you, as preparation for the upcoming national elections–another chance for us to exercise that right to suffrage. another chance to be heard. another chance for a change.
i hope this would be our chance to turn things around.
(note: this is a long article, i must warn you. but as you read along, you'll never realize that you've reached the end; and you'll ask for more. every word will help you to go further. every reality will compel you to know more.)
