what a surprise!
January 28, 2007and what a small world!
funrun is finally over! (but it lived up to its name! the jaw-dropping moments, the tummy-aching laughters, and the exhilarating experiences were undeniably great! — but this is not my entry…)
after our late check out (traders hotel), we decided to have a late lunch. the destination: avenetto - glorietta.
certainly, expect the unexpected.
upside down
January 26, 2007two hours ago, we arrived.
four hours ago, we were at the PUP-gym, watching the PUP pep squad.
twenty mins. before that, we couldn't find our way to the school.
sometime in between, we were asking a trike guy for the direction. we thought he didn't know what we asked him.
it turned out, he was right.
at home away from home
January 23, 2007as it had always been in the past, the drill is, one week prior to the event, i'll be in the buena-fee residence.
ever since, the family has opened their crib for me. they welcomed me to their nest as if i were a true-blue buena-fee.
after a much-needed (slash-required) holiday break, i'm back in the running again. back to being this incorrigible nomad. back to my life.
now, i have my small yet comfortable place inside the buena-fee sisters' room. you must know, i enjoy having a small place (small bed, small room, small banyo, etc.) . i love the intimacy that such place suggests. a world that invites no one but me.
anyway as of this writing, i've discovered another treasure in the dining room; another of the million yummy recipes of moodra (tita rose). this time, her leche flan.
hmmm…. i'm getting hungry….
ciao!
*sparkles!
welcome aboard
January 22, 2007as i've mentioned in the past, i love brilliantly-written copies, witty write-ups, and well-thought-of articles.
well, i've encountered one in the 2006 calendar of philippine airlines…
the sumptuousness of the words as they describe each key destinations is amazing…
welcome aboard philippine airlines and enjoy…
first stop: the (finally) awaken giant…
1. beijing : for centuries, beijing was the symbol of chinese civilization. emperors enriched her with treasures and palaces. dynasties rose and fell in her name. and foreign armies marched to covet her… for more than a thousand years, beijing shaped the course and destiny of china.
today, beijing remains as the seat of government, culture, and the arts. but times have changed. though her past grandeur and civilization are preserved for the world to cherish, her skyline is forever changed by a world with no boundaries.
let's tour the great city down under…
2. sydney : as the hot day melts into night, the city of sydney prepares for an evening of leisure and enjoyment. it is a ritual typical of the syneysider. fun-loving. outgoing. adventurous.
laughter, music and chatter echo through the night as more sydneysiders make their way through harbour bridge. it is a night to explore new places. make new friends. and live the way life should be lived.
let's fly high to la-L.A-land…
all about ms. young
January 19, 2007two years ago or more, young asked me to write about her.
when i was cleaning up my desk, i saw the manuscript.
i thought of posting it here before i throw the handwritten version, to make it part of my written history.
it goes like this.
and they thought it was no.1
January 17, 2007i love copywriting…the creativity that needs to produce a brilliant copy and the difficulty to produce that creativity.
every now and then, i try to compose a copy for my dream lifestyle company — ediqve®–which i love doing.
recently, i just created a copy for the start of the new year.
"your imagination is your limitation. ediqve. the power of I." (for my yahoo! email) and "ignite thy fire" (for my blog).
because of bj
January 14, 2007it all started when i commented, "i want to watch piolo and sam's valentine concert…"
it was during sarah sudario's post-bday dinner at dencio's - megastrip.
it was a wishful thinking after a dinner of oil, fried, and cholesterol. (but it was fun!)
i don't quite remember what was the transition from that question to the topic of born-again christian.
the gold still shines
January 8, 2007the golden rule still applies, particularly, tonight.
last night , during our dinner, loi was about to spill (some) beans to me. suddenly, she opted to stop. she didn't want me to learn about it. she might, according to her, tell my mom or the person concerned.
every time she does this kind of "i'll-reveal-something-oops-i-changed-my-mind-because-you-might-reveal-it" thing to me, it pisses me off.
finally, up north
January 7, 2007time flies when you're not aware of it. you're not aware of its "tick, tick," when you love what you're doing. hanging out with friends is one of the best de-stressing agent available. and i love it.
today, i had an opportunity to spend the whole day with donald and krista–an unlikely combination. after an hour or so tutoring "our" scholars, we decided to drop by mabini bakeshop along a. mabini (in caloocan). i thought, the two just planned to taste one of their buns. i was wrong. we ended up sharing stories and rumors. we stayed in the bakeshop more or less than two hours. i was surprised krista was not asking to go home. usually, in the middle of a gimmick, she would leave us. but today, everything seemed different.
private edict
January 6, 2007in man's earnestness to achieve order amidst chaos, we created laws. they say, rules reflect the kind of society where they are implemented. the more unruly the people are, the more laws–complicated, at that–are needed. heaven, they say, has no laws. hell, on the other hand, has a lot of it.
just like any other place on earth, and any living person, i have started to create rules for myself. This set of edicts is a result of my past experiences, my mistakes, my encounters, and other things that have contributed to my being. it reflects my beliefs, thoughts, and myself.
